Patriots vs. Chargers Act I

The Chargers were able to pull the upset of ages yesterday, defeating the Colts to head to foxboro sunday. The chargers were impressive beating the colts with a bunch of back-ups. The Pats were probably expecting the Colts, heck everyone thought it would be Pats Colts. Though the black and blue beaten up chargers are going to be facing New England.

The Chargers are 14 and a half point dogs, and the patriots just are on fire, shreading through to the AFC championship game. Tom "The Golden Boy" Brady and the recieving corps look to match up well aginst the chargers. The Patriots running game has also run a streak of "perfection", Laurence M. has done an amazing job the past seven weeks. The game is still yet to be determined in terms of staff on the field, L.T. holding is knee, Philip Rivers talking trash "injured" on the sidelines. Antonio Gates didn't play. Rivers hurt his MCL and is still day to day after an MRI. The Patriots and Chargers are a week away and so is more review.

Patriots Win (17-0)

While watching the game last night I was on the edge of my seat, pulling for the pats of course. Brady was an effective 12 for 12 at half time, with the game tied at 14. The Jaguars defense wasn't blitzing let alone at all! Brady was disecting the defense all night long, while Luarence M. torched the edges all game long. The Jags looked tired and out-played and a costly drop in the 3rd quarter cost them the game. Northcutt, the reciever that dropped the ball basically threw the game away with that drop making the jags settle for a mediorce field goal that wouldn't even things. The Patriots then presummed to drive down the field for an easy touchdown to Ben. Watson.

Then the pressure continued to mount as the Pats, poised as ever, played sound defense and sealed the game with a Rodney Harrison Interception. The Patriots WIN 31-20, and advance to 17-0. Looking to face the Colts in the AFC championship.

Patriots vs. Jaguars

The Patriots will be facing the run N' grind Jaguars today. The contrast in styles is very extreme. The Patriots' offense likes to throw, they will spread the field 4 wide, even five, giving a dink and dunk system will some stretching down field. The Jaguars on the other hand will take their chance and run, run, and oh run some more, generally they want to grind it out and keep the opposing team without a chance. The Patriots' defense plays a 3-4, and will consistently change, ever so schemeing to confuse the opponent and force costly mistakes. The Jaguars are a 4-3 team that generally keeps things simple, focusing on little extra pass rush and will play the game that comes to them. One head coach wears a gray hoodie that always seems wet, and the other has paced the sideline in a suit at home, and other times wears a leather jacket.

When the Patriots and Jaguars knock helmets Saturday night in the AFC divisional round at Gillette Stadium, it will be two distinct worlds colliding. Expect to hear a loud thud, because if there is one obvious similarity between the clubs, it's that both take pride in physical play.

The Patriots look to shut down the Jags run game to force David Garrard into winning the game, he posted 9-21 mediocre preformance in Pittsburgh last week. If David plays like that and throws interceptions, this game may be decided. The Patriots have had a bye, one week to self-scout, and the other to focus on the Jaguars. The Jaguars in their last playoff game seemed weak to the flat pass, no-huddle system. The Jags are ranked 15th in the league in Pass defense and with the pass being the Pariots focus, the jaguars need to keep it close, if not they will be playing catch up, and the Patriots will run away with the W.

Ryan's Prediction : Patriots Win 34-28, in a close game early, as the Jags run, and well run more...though bill creates adjustments at halftime and the jags begin to break down. The Jags fail to preform in the 4th quarter as the Patriots FINISH the game. Going to 17-0
